Public Nature is a nomadic multi-disciplinary performance series curated by Danielle Ross.
Emmi Greer (all pronouns) is a writer, editor, educator, and snack artist devoted to exploring the polyamorous relationships between language, art, and consciousness. She scribbles poems, menus, and lots of snail mail from Portland, Oregon, where she also curates and edits the local anthology publication Buckm
Helen Spencer-Wallace is a musician, dancer, and educator. She is haunted and beguiled by femininity, vulnerability, and avoidance in the role of the solo Western female pop singer. Her musical work messes with inconsistent and multiple selves, explicit deception, and plays in the overlap of experimental pop, drone, and noise. She is gratefully supported by her devoted studies in Western and Hindustani vocal music (in the Kirana Gharana lineage).
Hannah Krafcik and Emily Jones make performances and transdisciplinary art and co-facilitate movement practices. Our offerings explore the tensions between social power dynamics and unnamed personal needs. We maintain that sensory autonomy—the ability to honor and explore sensory needs and desires—is an essential step in naming, refusing, and subverting coercive power dynamics that touch every aspect of life. We are currently working on a multi-year project that began as The Swirl and is becoming an evening-length work called Perigee; we are presenting themes from our process this evening. www.hannahkrafcik.com & www.emilyannejones.com
