Dear friends,
Thank you for participating in PWNW’s 25th anniversary year—especially the three-day love fest in August that was 25 Hours for 25 Years. Beyond that incredible weekend, our jam-packed 2025 included—
- Premiering my latest work In preparation for disappearances to come at PICA, created and performed with incredible collaborators Allie Hankins, Danielle Ross, Chris Cochrane and Kevin Bud Jones;
- Presenting Alembic Resident Artists Kye Grant, Kai Hynes, and Sophia Ahmad with Ashi Dancler; as well as a work-in-progress by outgoing parent resident artist Muffie Delgado Connelly;
- Presenting four editions of workshop, the music series curated by stephanie lavon trotter;
- Modestly assisting Drama Tops’ performances of DADS at PICA ‘s TBA Festival;
- Presenting eight Co-Productions—two of which featured work by Alembic Alums Emma Lutz-Higgins and Trash Babes—plus hosting eight Public Access Productions;
- Hosting four instances of Linda K. Johnson’s PASTfuture archival conversations with Portland dance elders;
- Offering space for 50+ artists to rehearse, create, or offer workshops for a total of 2000 studio hours—at far below-market cost, or, in the case of our Alembic Resident Artists—FREE!
2026 will be a bit more relaxed (maybe?) but will see the completion of our bathroom addition, a new Alembic Artist cohort, more workshop music events, co-productions, visiting artists, and the first stirrings of a new Linda Austin Dance work.
We truly appreciate your presence and support as we continue to sustain artists and their making, with more than 40% of our budget going to artist fees!
Our hopes for 2026: that the art we make and witness will challenges and supports us, helping us remain alert, fortified, and joyful—both individually and collectively—as we navigate the tumult and the horrors.
With gratitude to you——
