PWNW is happy to welcome old friends and new—artists from Oakland, Seattle, and Portland— to our space for a night of fingerstyle compositions on acoustic guitar; sustained harmonies and slowness on viola and violin; and poetic pop reflections by a singer/songwriter.

Joseph Dee Bradshaw is a guitarist based in Oakland. His first solo album, The Conversion, released in 2025, features several long-form acoustic fingerstyle compositions. On his second album, The Lavender Promise (forthcoming later this year), he continues the fingerstyle explorations with a more improvisational approach, offering up several spontaneously composed pieces. Aside from his solo work, he is (alongside poet/theraminist Andrew Joron) one half of the free improv duo Fornax Linteum. Their self-titled EP is forthcoming imminently. https://josephdeebradshaw.bandcamp.com/album/the-conversion

Hanna Broback / Noel Kennon ( violin/viola ) This work has been ongoing since the last wood snake moon. Since that initial blooming the work has pollinated various spaces and ears up and down the pacific coast from art galleries, techno clubs, chapels and living rooms . the work takes on different structural forms but its sounding surface tends to reflect sustained harmonies and slowness. this practice involves music making but more importantly slow walks far into the woods/mountains to observe natural sounding sites like waterfalls, rivers, wind ,  etc… for this evening of music the duo will improvise with their idiosyncratic musical syntax. developed over time spent together. this music is slow and soft.

Related Gestures is the new solo music project from musician and filmmaker Ryan Sullivan. What began as a poetic pop reflection on the nature of human ambition quickly expanded into a wider exploration of telepathic love connections, impermanence, and creative flow states.

Between December 2024 and February 2025, Sullivan wrote and recorded 13 songs for the project in an intensive two-month burst of creativity. The recordings are built around Sullivan’s layered vocal harmonies, nylon-string acoustic guitar, and warm lo-fi production, creating an intimate yet exuberant sonic atmosphere.

Since 2022, Sullivan has worked primarily as an animation filmmaker, often composing original music for his films. The Related Gestures recordings continue that multidisciplinary approach, blending songwriting with the sensibility of a visual storyteller.

Sullivan previously performed as one half of the psych-folk duo 2% Majesty from 2003 to 2008. The band formed in Portland, Oregon, and later relocated to Chicago in 2007, touring nationally during its active years and developing a devoted underground following.

With Related Gestures, Sullivan returns to songwriting with a body of work that reflects both personal introspection and years of creative exploration across music and film. https://catchandhatch.com/
