sub.set dance presents Pieces in Progress, a celebration of working things out, bringing three in-development pieces to the stage.

Hannah MacKenzie-Margulies’ This it is is a solo for the end of an era—a requiem for paths not taken, messages left unread, and options never exercised.

Dani Peterson is investigating embodied collage in souvenirs. A celebration of what we take with us, this piece distills a year’s worth of beautiful things into one moving body.

In Wanting NEEDING Alanna Hoyman-Browe explores the shifting and contextual relationship between wants and needs. In the piece, dancers and singers come together to investigate yearning, luxury, and deep desire. This features singers:  Jeff Jaeger, Mary McCarty, Sara Szymanski, and Wil Horsley, and dancers Alanna Hoyman-Browe, Simone Wood, and Lee Wilmoth.

Ticket sales beyond production cost will be distributed evenly between the artists.

Sub.set dance is a collective of movers, founded in 2014 by Alanna Hoyman-Browe, Claire Thomforder-Gardner, Hannah MacKenzie-Margulies, and Simone Wood.
