The Great House of Music, www.greathouseofmusic.com with vocalist, actor and dancer Helena Greathouse and musician, accordion player and composer Mark Greathouse, will perform a program of music of local composers including Mark’s own songs, Czech and Slovak ethnic music and dance, and selections from Broadway musicals and popular songs, and will close the show with the original piece, From This Dark Place, created by the tEEth dance company. Their performance features interesting choreography and costume changes. This performance serves as a release party for their new CD.
The Walking Willows features Stephen Cohen on guitar and voice and Rich Hinrichsen on double bass and voice. Stephen Cohen is an award winning songwriter who has performed at concerts and festivals across the United States, including performances at the Philadelphia Folk Festival and the Kerrville Folk Festival in Texas. The Walking Willows, Cohen and Hinrichsen’s new band, are an offshoot of the Tree People,, http://treepeoplechronicles.blogspot.com , who have been called Fathers of Freak Folk and Psych Folk Pioneers. They will perform original music, including Stephen Cohen’s piece, Rain, Rain,Rain, which features audience participation on original sculptural percussion instruments.
