Inspired by the early work of Jerzy Grotowski, this medium of Paratheatre I’ve been developing (since 1977) combines methods of physical theatre, dance, ritual, and Zazen meditation to access and express the internal landscape of autonomous forces in the Body. Though I can’t say this work is for everybody, it seems to appeal most to those seeking a safe space to explore their visceral responses to spiritual sources.” – Antero Alli

In Ordinary Devotions, an intimate drama of gesture and sensation unfolds alongside an unorthodox use of everyday objects.
This work honors the particularities of my 65-year old body and its hunger for tactility, offering a sly provocation for audiences to experience the ephemeral materiality of their own bodies as well as the liveliness and glamour found in the ordinary. —Linda Austin
