workshop is a series for musicians and artists working in sound to present new and in-progress works and compositions. workshop supports experimentation, improvisation and composed sound and noise, maybe even “songs”. it is an informal showing, a moment to work through new ideas, or old ideas in a new way.

curated by stephanie lavon trotter and presented by PWNW, the space supports acoustic and electronic works, as well as work that includes projection, lighting and movement.

Historically, in Juniana’s career, she’s been primarily a studio artist, engineer and collaborator.  She has done recording and mixing in her own studio for artists Catherine Lee, Janne Lundberg, Doug Theriault and Sarah Dumuzio, as well as various full bands.  She has engineered and mixed records for countless artists and groups at Fluff and Gravy studios, and has occasionally run live sound for various events.  Acting as sound designer, she has worked with dancers and choreographers Linda Austin, Allie Hankins, Jen Richardson, Marissa Rae Niederhauser and Danielle Ross. Juniana has gradually entered the performance realm, playing in collaborations with Kyle Bouchard, Vacilando, members of the Creative Music Guild, and the Extradition ensemble.  While collaboration and support are the roles where Juniana has felt most comfortable, it is now time for her to look inside for a change, and find her own inspirations for sound exploration and performance.
