    ALL PERFORMANCES EXCEPT OCTOBER 15 CANCELED DUE TO ILLNESS PWNW Artistic Director Linda Austin presents Mile 2 of her ongoing project “3 miles of possible.” animating and traveling along a series of spatial paths envisioned as giant drawings, spells,and/or runes. These paths are threaded through with a variety of movement scores, choreographies, tasks, interactions with objects, guest artists, texts, songs, and sound compositions.

    Touch system ✿✿✿ is an emerging choreographic work by Alembic Resident Blue McCall, taking place within a custom sound installation by Jamondria Harris (meroitic). Touch system explores the tension between image making and embodiment, shifting between high-impact physicality and moments of sculptural stillness. Join them for an informal open studio showing, to celebrate the end of the group’s summer studio sessions and to launch their fall performance season!

    By My Own Hand, Part 1: GHOSTING, is the first in a five-part series of performances that leverage the performer/audience relationship to question attempts we make at containment; at naming; at establishing lines and boundaries. Toying with the perceived power of systems we use to define ourselves, such as astrology, psychotherapy, and dream interpretation, the work coyly points to the futility of attempting to uphold a fixed persona in life or performance.

    PWNW welcomes Corrie Befort and Jason E. Anderson of LIMITS for our inaugural Alembic Parent Residency. The duo draw upon their extensive involvement with improvisation, film, video art, installation and experimental performance to investigate psychological experiences of time, memory and perception. Corrie and Jason are using this residency opportunity to invite other artists to play/improvise with them within the context of LIMITS, proposing “container” scores for themselves toward revealing new ideas and perspectives on their preoccupations with character, narrative and information density.
